The Get Ready Queensland Week  launch was held in Brisbane’s King George Square today, which coincided with the release of the Bureau of Meteorology’s Cyclone and Severe Storm Outlook for 2019-20. 

Get Ready Queensland Ambassador Johnathan Thurston kicked off the launch along with Minister responsible for the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Cameron Dick and Minister for Fire and Emergency Services Craig Crawford.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFESAustralian Red CrossRSPCA, QueenslandQueensland Ambulance Service (QAS)Business QueenslandBrisbane City CouncilLifeline, Bunnings Warehouse Australia and other government and non-government agencies were also involved in the King George Square launch and provided plenty of activities, advice and resources for everyone in the family on all things preparedness.

Last disaster season, Queenslanders were impacted by 11 severe weather events. This year, we have already seen the devastating impact of bushfires in Southeast Queensland. Now's the time to make sure you and your loved ones are prepared this disaster season.
