Today, Channel 7 meteorologist Tony Auden joined the Get Ready Queensland team for a presentation to 120 enthusiastic Grade 5 students from Wynnum State School.

Student Zamyra won her classmates the visit with her beautiful entry in the Get Ready Queensland NAIDOC Week 2019 colouring in competition.

The students displayed a great understanding of what is required to be prepared for Queensland’s extreme weather including why putting a plan in place before the next disaster hits is crucial for your family's safety ( including your pets and neighbours) and to ensure that they know what to do and where to go if they were caught by a natural disaster either at home or at school.

Following the presentation the students got another opportunity to test out their knowledge on the Get Ready virtual reality challenge where they once again proved they know how to prepare for this summer's extreme weather events.
