Ready Minds, Ready Teams: Watch the Recording and Build Your Mental Resilience for Severe Weather
As Queensland moves through another severe weather season, staying prepared is about more than checklists and emergency kits. A ready mind helps you stay calm, make clear decisions and support others when it matters most.
Last month, Get Ready Queensland partnered with the Australian Red Cross to deliver ‘Ready Minds, Ready Teams’, a free one hour webinar designed to equip Queenslanders with practical strategies for building mental resilience before, during and after severe weather.
More than 120 people from across state and local government, community organisations and workplaces joined the live session, making it one of our most engaged preparedness webinars to date.
If you missed it or would like to revisit the tools and insights shared, you can now watch the full recording below.
What the session covered
The webinar explored simple, evidence based ways to strengthen your personal and team readiness, including how to:
Build clarity, confidence and calm ahead of severe weather
Manage stress and respond more effectively in challenging situations
Support colleagues, family and community through shared resilience practices
Create a holistic household emergency plan and prepare an emergency kit
Delivered by experts from the Australian Red Cross, the session focused on practical actions that anyone can take to improve their mental preparedness and help their team be ready for whatever the season brings.
