When sheltering at home, go to the strongest room in the house. It should be an internal room that is away from windows or glass doors, like a bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, or hallway. Take with you: 🐶 Everyone in your home, including pets. 🎒 Your emergency kit, drinking water 💧, phones 📱, and devices 🔋. 🎲 Games and other distractions, as well as pillows and bedding —you may need to stay there for several hours. 🎧 Noise-cancelling headphones for anyone who needs them. Outside will be noisy, like a roaring engine. 🪟 A mattress or heavy blanket to cover any windows if needed. Do not leave this space – the eye of the cyclone 🌀 will be quiet, and you may think it’s over. It’s most likely not! Being near doors or windows can be dangerous. Stay safe 🙏 and listen to emergency services and local weather updates through your local radio or via www.bom.gov.au/qld/warnings/
