Get Ready@Work Internal Communications Toolkit
Get Ready@Work helps organisations encourage employees to prepare their households for severe weather. This year, it supports the Get Queensland Ready campaign with a simple call to action: open the severe weather checklist, choose an action and tick it off when it is done.
Severe weather can affect how we live, work, travel and connect with our communities. Get Ready @ Work is a practical wellbeing initiative from Get Ready Queensland that helps employees take manageable steps to prepare themselves and the people they care for.

The severe weather checklist breaks preparation into practical actions people can work through at their own pace. Encourage staff to start with one action, then build on their progress. Once they complete the checklist, they can download a badge of honour to celebrate their efforts and inspire others to Get Queensland Ready.
By promoting disaster preparedness internally, organisations demonstrate genuine care for employees and their families, while also benefiting from reduced workplace disruption and increased operational resilience.

Let’s Get Queensland Ready, one step at a time.
Severe weather can interrupt everyday life, from getting to work or school to keeping in touch with the people we care for. [Organisation Name] is supporting Get Ready @ Work to help you take practical steps to prepare your household.
Last year, more than 30 state and local government organisations joined Get Ready @ Work. This year, we are building on that momentum and the statewide Get Queensland Ready campaign featuring JT, with an easy-to-use severe weather checklist.
You do not need to do everything at once. Start with one action, tick it off when it is done and choose another when you can. You could:
Turn on weather warning notifications for your area.
Save your council’s disaster dashboard so local updates are easy to find.
Talk with your household about what you would do if severe weather disrupted your day.
Open the severe weather checklist and take your first step: [Insert your unique checklist QR code/URL]
Every action helps you prepare. Together, let’s Get Queensland Ready.
