Get Ready Queensland Week is our annual statewide call to action, helping communities prepare for extreme weather and disasters.

From Monday 6 to Sunday 12 October, councils and local organisations across Queensland will be rolling out a huge range of activities, from community expos, school workshops and emergency services displays, to local media campaigns, markets and preparedness giveaways.

A Look Back at Get Ready Queensland Week 2024

In October 2024, Queensland came together to get disaster-ready — and what a week it was!

Councils, emergency services, schools, and community groups across the state hosted events and activities to help locals prepare for severe weather. 

We saw regional Queensland shine, with strong turnout at markets, preparedness stalls, and events led by councils and local volunteers  who know the risks and how to bounce back.
