Get Ready Queensland Week is pencilled in for 8-13 October 2024.
In September 2024, councils will be provided with a Communication Toolkit to support them in social media messaging, newsletters and engaging with their local community.

The week kicked off with simultaneous launches in Brisbane and Townsville, setting the tone for a great week! The fantastic coverage generated from of these events energised communities across the state.
A big congratulations to St Joseph's Catholic School Wandal in Rockhampton on their win! They were the lucky school drawn as winners for this year's Get Ready Queensland School Competition, scoring a visit from our Ambassador Johnathan Thurston.
More than 560 students from 19 schools across Queensland took part in this year’s competition.
Thank you so much to the councils in Townsville, Charters Towers, Mackay, Rockhampton, Fraser Coast and Noosa for their unwavering support of Get Ready Queensland's Trolley Tour events. It was wonderful to host these events with you!
A huge thank you to Brisbane, Ipswich and Townsville for your commitment to engaging with your communities and encouraging more resilient homes. The Bunnings Workshops were a trial in 2023, and we look forward to applying lessons to improve them in 2024.
A special salute to councils, Queensland Fire Emergency Services, Queensland Police Services, State Emergency Services and the Rural Fire Services for your dedication to creating a safer and more prepared Queensland. Your efforts will resonate well beyond this week!
