Community of Practice: Supporting Councils with Get Ready Queensland Funding

The Get Ready Queensland Community of Practice is an opportunity for councils funded through Get Ready Queensland to connect directly with the GRQ team and their neighbouring councils.

It’s a space to share updates on activities, resources, messaging, research, and important news that supports local disaster preparedness efforts.

Since early 2024, GRQ has introduced regional Community of Practice meetings where groups of 5–6 councils come together with the Get Ready Queensland team. These sessions provide a valuable forum to exchange ideas, tackle shared challenges, and explore resilience initiatives tailored to your region’s needs.

Each year, Get Ready Queensland hosts an All-Council Community of Practice in September. This event takes place just before the annual Get Ready Queensland Week (October) and ahead of the State's disaster season, which usually runs from October through April.
